PSFI

Case Study
The Organisation

Understanding that professional and financial services firms are all different, PSFI take an expertly nuanced view, underpinned by decades of experience to be able to work alongside to transform businesses.

The Challenge

PSFI were struggling with their current provider and IT infrastructure. They were working on a Citrix hosted cloud setup which was not able to offer the simple, easy to use, flexible IT infrastructure that they required as an organisation. There were also suboptimal support response, SLA’s and the time to fix faults, within the hosted environment resulted in significant downtime for the company.

With staff members based all over the world, sometimes in places with poor or limited connectivity, PSFI were also keen to have a system that allowed them to work locally, with changes to documents and files syncing back to the main organisation data sets when good, uninterrupted connectivity was available.

The Approach

Qlic recommended migration to SharePoint as this offered multiple benefits and improvements to the current setup. For PSFI the main advantages of SharePoint included:

  • Flexibility to Work in Areas with Limited Connectivity
  • Faster Support Response & Fix Times
  • Zero Downtime Disaster Recovery
  • Flexible Working across PC, Mobile and Tablet
  • Easy to Use IT Infrastructure and Simple Interfacing

Qlic also advised that PSFI should get Cyber Essentials Certified, a Government backed cyber security initiative, which provides five security controls that, according to the UK government, could prevent around “85% of cyber-attacks”.

The Results

One of the main benefits that PSFI immediately realized was the ability for all staff members to work locally when unable to connect using Office 365 Files on Demand. This has allowed more flexible working and staff members can now access their files in areas of limited connectivity and when ‘on the go’.

Device encryption and cloud to cloud backup have improved network security and have helped towards GDPR compliance. As a Cyber Essentials certified firm, data security and compliance is very important for PSFI.

PSFI also have the added peace of mind that our service desk is on-hand and fast to respond, and fix the issue in the event of any problems with their devices or IT infrastructure.

Key Outcomes
Testimonial

I have to say that with this transition Premier were spot on during the analytical phase, and then incredibly flexible and professional during the implementation stage. These sorts of transitions are never easy, not just because of the technology but because they involve people and significant change. Premier handled this effectively through the whole process, and I found them easy to work with on what are always more challenging projects than they may look like to the uninitiated. I would have no hesitation in recommending for other projects.
