ALIAS EMAIL ADDRESS

An Alias email address is a way to have multiple email addresses go into one mailbox. As an example, the main mailbox is [email protected], there is only have one mailbox, one log in. An alias email addresses can we ser up which is someone were to email, it would put them into my mailbox [email protected]. I may have [email protected][email protected][email protected][email protected]. If someone were to email on either of those email addresses it would just automatically go into the main mailbox, this is good if you regularly have people confuse your name or the spelling of your name. There is no separate mailbox so the email address just covers if they don’t get your email address right. This option is free as the extra emails are not mailboxes and they do not have access to anything, and there is no way to log in.


SHARED MAILBOX

A shared mailbox is a mailbox which appears within your mail mailbox. It is not a separate mailbox you can log into but others can email the shared mailbox and you can view it as a second inbox within your mailbox. As an example main mailbox is [email protected] then I could have a shared mailbox of [email protected]. To view emails sent to the mailbox [email protected] I would log into the main mailbox [email protected] look along the folders (inbox, draft, sent) then there would be a separate folder which would show ‘[email protected] inbox’. There are not separate log ins, no email from the email address [email protected], emails can only be viewed in the mailbox. This option is free as it is not classed as a full mailbox, there is no log in access to 365.


LICENCED MAILBOX

A licenced mailbox you have access to everything, you have a log in and a password separate to your mailbox. As an example if the user wanted to have 2 separate mailboxes and be able to receive and send emails from more than one email address there would need to have separate licences for each email address. 1 licence for each mailbox is chargeable.
